Afternoon Shift Team Leader - Production

Cranfield Recruitment has partnered with a well-established and growing manufacturer in Burleigh Heads that designs and produces high-quality custom apparel and promotional products for customers across Australia and overseas.

Due to continued growth, we’re seeking ahands-on Afternoon Shift Team Leaderwith astrong production or manufacturing background. This isnota warehouse supervisor role. Our client needs someone who understands production environments, can lead from the front, and is mechanically minded enough to assist with fault finding and keeping machinery running efficiently.

About the Role

Leading a team of approximately 9 staff, you’ll be responsible for ensuring production targets are met while maintaining quality, safety and efficiency across the afternoon shift.

You’ll be a visible leader on the floor, supporting your team, solving problems and working closely with production to minimise downtime.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead and motivate a small afternoon production team.
- Ensure daily production schedules are achieved safely and efficiently.
- Provide hands-on leadership and support throughout the shift.
- Assist with fault finding and minor mechanical troubleshooting on production machinery.
- Liaise with warehouse, dispatch and production teams to ensure smooth workflow.
- Drive quality,



productivity and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Maintain a safe, organised and efficient work environment.

What We’re Looking For

A production/manufacturing background is essential.

To be successful, you’ll have:

- Previous experience leading teams within a manufacturing or production environment.
- Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to troubleshoot production machinery.
- Experience working with automated or manufacturing equipment.
- A hands‑on leadership style—you’ll enjoy being on the floor with your team.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to make decisions under pressure.
- Strong communication and organisational skills.
- A commitment to workplace safety and quality standards.
