We are looking for empathetic, experienced and professional Support Workers to join our Northern Rivers Team. You will provide heartfelt care and support to a young woman requiring significant care and support. You will play a pivotal role in assisting her to achieve her goals which include social activities and cooking. In addition to making a difference in this person’s life you will be a part of a values‑aligned team and work closely with a supportive family and network of health professionals. Rostered on a 2:1 basis for all shifts you will appreciate this collaborative and supportive team environment. Our team provide supports 24 hours a day, seven days a week so these shifts may provide you with the flexibility you need to fit around your other life commitments and the added benefit of penalty rates for some shifts.

As an experienced Support Worker you know that every day will look a little different in this challenging but rewarding role but you can expect to have responsibility for the following key areas:

- Service Delivery – Provide person‑centred and flexible support to people living with a disability by understanding their goals and working collaboratively with them, and their broader support network, to achieve these goals.
- Compliance and Risk Management – Ensure the health, safety and wellbeing of our people by delivering services and supports in line with WHS and other regulatory requirements.
- Community and Stakeholder Engagement – Participate in key stakeholder meetings and engage with relevant stakeholders to ensure our participants needs are at the heart of all we do.
- Documentation and Reporting – Keep detailed and accurate records and documentation to ensure a coordinated and best‑practice approach to client care.




- Strategic Projects – We have recently launched our 3‑year strategic plan and our team members will have the opportunity to contribute to projects and other initiatives that support this plan.

About you

To be successful in this role you will be passionate about providing individualised and flexible support. You will have significant experience working with someone who has high support needs, including significant speech and language impairment, experiences anxiety and obsessive compulsive behaviours, requires personal care support and has a Positive Behaviour Support plan in place.

Essential Requirements include:

- Minimum of three years’ experience working in a care role with some experience supporting people with complex or high support needs.
- The ability to problem solve, read cues, adapt and respond calmly in any situation.
- Understanding of Positive Behaviour Support Plans and Restrictive Practices.
- NDIS Worker Screening Check;
- Working with Children’s Check;
- COVID-19 Vaccine as per NSW Health directive
- National Police Check (issued within the last 12 months)
- Current First Aid & CPR Certificate
- Current Australian Driver’s License
- Own vehicle with comprehensive car insurance.

The following experience would be highly regarded:

- Minimum Certificate III in Individualised Support or other relevant discipline.




- Experience with key word signing and / or communication partner training will be advantageous.
- Training in TCI will be highly regarded but this training will be provided to the successful candidates.
- Experience working in mental health or aged care could be particularly helpful in this role.
