The Allied Health Assistant will work alongside Speech Therapists, Occupational Therapists and other allied health professionals to support clients in achieving their therapeutic goals. The role involves implementing therapy plans, preparing resources, documenting progress, and supporting clients during therapy-based activities across a variety of settings. This role will be based primarily at our Caboolture location, but will work in our Nambour and Currimundi sites as well.

Follow and implement therapy intervention plans as directed by Speech and Occupational Therapists.

Create and facilitate engaging therapy activities tailored to each client’s goals.

Support therapists during sessions through preparation, modelling strategies, and assisting with treatment delivery.

Assist with scoring assessments and collecting data to monitor client progress.

Develop therapy resources, equipment, and visual supports.

Prepare materials for upcoming therapy sessions, including sensory tools, communication aids, and activity-based resources.

Maintain organisation of therapy spaces, equipment, and materials.

Complete accurate, timely treatment notes following each client interaction.

Assist with administrative tasks such as filing, resource management, and scheduling support.

Support clients with building functional skills identified in therapy plans (e.g., communication, fine motor skills, sensory regulation, social interaction, or daily living-related goals—within therapy scope only).

Implement tasks and exercises that reinforce therapy recommendations both in-clinic and in community-based therapy settings.

Work collaboratively with therapists, families, caregivers, and other allied health services to ensure consistent therapeutic support.

Contribute to a positive, organised, and client-centred workplace culture.

Qualifications/Requirements:

Previous experience working children or people with disabilities.

Strong interpersonal skills, empathy, and a genuine interest in supporting client development.

Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.

Creativity, problem-solving ability, and adaptability in creating meaningful therapy activities.

Skilled communication and presentation.

Certification in Allied Health or Disabilities (desirable)

First Aid and CPR (desirable)

Current driver’s license and have access to own transport

Working with children check (QLD Paid Blue Card)

NDIS worker screening clearance (Yellow Card)

NDIS Worker Orientation Module

Satisfactory National Police check
