Modern Star is looking for motivated, reliable and safety focused Container Unloaders to join our growing team at our Brendale Distribution Centre.
This is a physically active role suited to people who enjoy hands on work and being part of a team. You will play an important role in ensuring products are unloaded safely and efficiently so they can be delivered to schools and early learning centres across Australia.
These casual positions offer consistent:
- Monday to Friday work on either the 6:00am – 1:56pm or 2:00pm – 9:56pm shift.
- Successful applicants will receive $33.85 per hour, paid fortnightly.
- Located just 450 metres from Strathpine Train Station, our Brendale Distribution Centre is easily accessible by public transport.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely unload shipping containers by hand
- Lift, move and stack cartons using safe manual handling techniques
- Check incoming stock for damage or discrepancies
- Sort and stage products for receiving and storage
- Maintain a clean, organised and safe work area
- Follow all workplace health and safety procedures
- Work collaboratively with team members to meet daily operational targets
About You
We are looking for people who are dependable, hardworking and enjoy physical work.
To be successful you will have:
- Be 18 years of age or older
- A positive attitude and strong work ethic
- Excellent reliability and attendance
- The physical fitness and stamina to safely perform repetitive manual handling, including lifting, carrying, bending,
twisting and standing for extended periods
- The ability to safely and consistently meet the inherent physical requirements of the role
- A commitment to workplace health and safety
- Good communication and teamwork skills
The following would be highly regarded:
- Previous container unloading or warehouse experience
- Experience working in a fast paced distribution environment
- Manual handling experience
