Astute Financial Management is a leading financial services company based at Toowong . We support over 700 finance brokers, insurance brokers and financial planners throughout Australia and New Zealand.
We are seeking an energetic person to work in our accounting team as an Assistant Accountant to support our Senior Accountant. The role supports all aspects of accounting, reporting, forecasting, modelling, reconciling for a number of entities across Australia and Recent Zealand. We are open to consider applicants looking for full time or permanent parttime employment.
Previous work experience within a medium sized business or within an audit or business services division with an accounting firm would be advantageous. Formal accounting qualifications would be expected, but practical experience and attitude will be strongly considered.
To be successful in this role you will need to demonstrate the following:
- Good Communication Skills
- Experience in accounts payable and receivable processing
- Reconciling bank accounts and balance sheet accounts
- Good use of excel to analyse data, model and forecast data and trends
- A high attention to detail and willingness to learn and take initiative
- Use of mid level accounting systems (eg Reckon, Quickbooks, MYOB, Xero etc)
- Professional manner and presentation
- Hands on skill with PC computer applications including all Microsoft Office programs and Internet (specifically Outlook & Excel)
- Ability to work to deadlines
- Able to work as part of a team
Your responsibilities will include:
- Assist our Senior Accountant with all aspects of accounting, processing, analysis with appropriate direction and guidance as needed.
- In time, be responsible for the accounting and reporting for our smaller entities/businesses and increase involvement and understanding of our main entities.
- Work closely with our Revenue Processing teams to assist with daily reconciliations of deposits and payments.
- Assist with adhoc processing, analysis, reporting as required.
This role is based in our office that is located in Toowong.
