Marquis Macadamias is a 100% Australian Grower owned company. Established in 1983, the company has grown to be the world's largest processor of macadamias with factories located at Lismore, NSW and Bundaberg, QLD.
We are looking for a qualified WHS and HR qualified to join our team at our processing facility located in Lismore (2 Cowlong Road, Lindendale).
Reporting to the General Manager, this important role is responsible for developing and implementing WHS and HR strategies and systems to ensure compliance and support a safe and productive work environment. This facility operates 24hrs a day, 5 days a week and can employ up to 200 staff during peak season.
Key Responsibilities of this role include:
- Implement and maintain WHS and Training management systems for the Lindendale facility ensuring compliance with relevant legislation.
- Manage hazard and risk registers for the facility and lead incident investigations and corrective actions.
- Conduct regular safety audits and inspections.
- Manage the return-to-work and injury rehabilitation process.
- Oversee end-to-end recruitment and selection processes for all levels.
- Provide guidance on disciplinary and grievance handling and foster positive employee relations and engagement across the workforce.
- Liaise with external regulators, auditors, and industry bodies as required.
Ideally you are a tertiary qualified WHS or HR professional with 3+ years experience in either or both fields. A strong understanding of Australian employment and WHS law and regulations is essential.
In addition, you will have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and be capable of handling a variety of WHS and HR issues calmly and professionally.
