About the Role
Reporting to the Coordinator - Recreation and Open Space Planning, the core responsibilities include:
- Plan, develop and deliver strategies, master plans and capital works projects for the Shire's sport, recreation and open space network.
- Project manage capital works delivery, acting as Council's client representative with contractors and consultants.
- Build and maintain relationships with community groups, sporting clubs and stakeholders, and lead community consultation on key projects.
- Prepare reports, briefings and funding submissions, and contribute to operational and capital works budget processes.
About You
- Tertiary qualifications in Sport and Recreation Management, Urban Planning, Project Management or a related field, ideally with local government experience.
- Demonstrated ability to plan and deliver projects, strategies or master plans to a successful conclusion.
- Understanding of local government processes, and awareness of relevant government and sporting sector guidelines and policy.
- Highly developed written and verbal communication skills, able to prepare transparent reports and engage a diverse range of stakeholders.
- Sound judgement and time management, with the ability to manage a varied workload and deliver with minimal supervision.
