The Role

We are seeking an Electrical Engineer to design, develop and supervise the manufacture, installation, operation and maintenance of the equipment, machines and systems for the generation, distribution, utilization and control of electric power across our precast production facilities, plant and projects. The successful candidate will bring robust electrical engineering expertise and apply relevant standards and regulations to ensure our electrical systems are safe, reliable, efficient and compliant.

Key Responsibilities

– Design, develop and supervise the installation, operation and maintenance of electrical equipment, machines and systems for the generation, distribution, utilization and control of electric power across SHE's precast production facilities, plant and projects.

– Determine the type and arrangement of circuits, transformers, circuit-breakers, transmission and distribution lines and other electrical equipment for plant and project applications.

– Interpret specifications, drawings, standards and regulations relating to electrical equipment and its use,



and ensure compliance with relevant Australian Standards and safety and regulatory requirements.

– Design and analyse electrical, control and signalling systems, including control and signalling equipment relevant to rail and transport infrastructure works.

– Organise and manage the resources used in the supply of electrical components, machines, appliances and equipment, and establish delivery and installation schedules for machines, switchgear, cables and fittings.

– Prepare requisitions and inquiries and review supplier technical documents and drawings; arrange factory acceptance testing (FAT), field installation and commissioning of electrical equipment.

– Supervise the operation and maintenance of electrical systems and industrial plant, monitor performance and direct maintenance and fault rectification.

– Provide electrical engineering technical support to the design, tendering and production teams, and coordinate technical inputs with designers, contractors, suppliers, statutory agencies and clients.

– A bachelor degree or higher qualification in Electrical Engineering, or an equivalent overseas qualification assessed as comparable.

– Demonstrated professional electrical engineering experience across the design, installation, operation, maintenance and/or quality assurance of electrical equipment and systems, ideally within power, industrial, manufacturing or infrastructure settings.

– Ability to interpret electrical specifications, drawings, standards and regulations and to ensure compliance with applicable Australian Standards and safety requirements.

– Familiar with relevant engineering software (e.g. AutoCAD, MATLAB) and competence in technical documentation and reporting.

– Sound written and spoken English.

– Experience across the full project cycle such as development, procurement, FAT, installation and commissioning, coordinating multidisciplinary or international project teams.
