AFLASH FIRE PTY LTD is a professional fire protection company providing comprehensive fire safety services, including fire testing, maintenance, certification, and new fire protection installations. As part of our continued growth and expansion, we are seeking an experienced Fire Engineering Technologist to establish and develop our fire engineering design and advisory capabilities. The successful candidate will play an important role in supporting the expansion of our service offering by providing fire engineering expertise, developing technical solutions, and assisting with the delivery of fire safety strategies and engineering designs.

This position provides an opportunity to contribute to the growth of AFLASH FIRE PTY LTD's fire engineering services while working alongside an established fire protection business committed to safety, compliance, and quality outcomes. We are currently seeking an experienced Fire Engineering Technologist to join our team on a full-time basis in Strathfield South NSW 2136.

Position Responsibilities and Tasks:

- Making Engineering designs & calculations, sketches and/or diagrams to help prevent fire or fire spread 'fire strategy' for the design of Fire Sprinkler Systems, Fire Hydrant and Hose Reel Systems, Fire Detection and Alarm Systems etc.




- Identifying possible fire-related risks and reducing or eliminating them & implementation of designed systems.
- Incorporating fire safety procedures into designs - such as sprinkler systems, emergency exits and fire alarms - to minimise the risk of injury and loss of life in the event of a fire, taking into account both the structural integrity of the building and human behaviour.
- Making recommendations for the materials used in the construction or refurbishment of a building.
- Keeping up to date with regulations and legislation.
- Using modelling software for design and development.
- Visiting project/construction sites to advise on the installation or implementation of the designs.
- Providing advice that feeds into decisions on safe building occupancy levels, fire evacuation plans and so on.
- Writing reports on fire strategy.
- Liaising with local authorities and/or building control professionals if and as required.

Qualifications and Skills:

- Relevant Degree
- Minimum 2 years of relevant experience.
- Excellent mathematical skills with the ability to perform engineering calculations and technical analysis.
- High intellect with strong analytical, technical, and problem-solving abilities.
- Strong oral and written communication skills, along with excellent reading comprehension.
- Thorough and comprehensive knowledge of physics and other sciences relevant to engineering and fire safety principles.
- Strong troubleshooting and critical thinking skills.
- Knowledge and understanding of fire safety systems, engineering design principles, regulations, and legislation.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to prepare accurate technical documentation and reports.
- Commitment to maintaining high standards of safety, quality, and compliance.

Salary:

Salary: The role offers a remuneration package of $80,000 to $100,000 p.a. plus superannuation, depending on the successful candidate’s qualifications, skills, experience, and technical expertise. The successful applicant will be required to work a minimum of 40 hours per week, Location: Strathfield South NSW 2136
