Doral Mineral SandsPty Ltd(DMS), has well established heavy mineral sands mining and processing facilities near Bunbury, Busselton and Mandurah in the Southwest of WA. As part of the company's growth strategy, we have broadened our mineral sands operations recently acquiring Coburn Resources within the Gascoyne region.

The Mechanical Fitter’s primary purpose on site is to ensure reliability, safety, and optimal performance of mechanical systems and equipment within the fixed plant infrastructure.

The role involves conducting preventative maintenance, diagnosing and repairing mechanical faults, and supporting continuous production by minimising equipment downtime.

The fitter plays a critical role in maintaining operational efficiency, adhering to site safety protocols, and contributing to the overall success of mining operations through technical expertise and proactive problem solving.

Key responsibilities include:

- Provide the trade skills necessary to maintain the DMS plant to ensure production targets and plant availability is maintained.
- Provide input into the development and continuous improvement of maintenance, inspection and lubrication schedules.
- Update and Keep records of maintenance activities and spares.




- Liaise closely with Production personnel and nurture a team ownership approach to Maintenance.
- Provide input into the cost and effectiveness of plant maintenance.
- Provide input into the cost and effectiveness of spares and inventory levels.
- Provide input into the development and ongoing improvement in JSAs / SWI for tasks within your area of responsibility
- Carry out minor repairs and maintenance to mobile equipment, as directed.
- Ensure that housekeeping and safety standards within the workshop are maintained to the highest level.
- Keep a record and maintain all the workshop tools and safety equipment.
- Help and support peers including contractors within the operation to complete tasks.
- Help and support other personnel within and outside your department where appropriate.
- Provide training of trades personnel, apprentices and/or operators as required.

The successful applicant will have a excellent attitude to safety, problem-solving and efficiency incorporating a 'team ownership' mentality. Your skill set should ideally include:

- Trade certificate in Mechanical Fitting, fixed Plant.
- Sound understanding of an employee’s requirements under the "Work Health and Safety Act (2020)" and the "Work Health and Safety (Mines) Regulations (2022)".
- Sound Computer, Numeracy and literacy skills.
- Post trade training and competence in oxy cutting and arc welding or BMW experience - highly desirable.
- Experience in process plant maintenance.
- Sound mechanical aptitude.
- Demonstrated diagnostics and trouble shooting ability.
- You will be a team player that supports, and is supported by trusted co-workers, with a willingness to step up to ensure shared positive results.
