About the Opportunity

As part of the Central Coast Local Health District (CCLHD) Drug & Alcohol Service, you will provide high-quality, evidence-based nursing care to patients undertaking alcohol and drug withdrawal in a supportive inpatient environment.

This position plays a a vital role in delivering protected, compassionate, and evidence-based care for patients undergoing alcohol and drug withdrawal. In this role you will:

- Deliver compassionate, evidence-based nursing care to patients undertaking alcohol and drug withdrawal in a specialist inpatient setting.
- Assess, monitor, and manage patients throughout the withdrawal process, ensuring safe, high-quality clinical care and accurate documentation.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, patients, carers, and external providers to support recovery-focused outcomes.
- Contribute to continuous improvement through clinical supervision, professional development, quality initiatives, and mentoring of junior nursing staff.

About You

We are looking for someone who has:





- Current registration as a Registered Nurse with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
- Demonstrated clinical experience in alcohol and other drug withdrawal management, with the ability to deliver safe, evidence-based care.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and clinical documentation skills, with confidence working within a multidisciplinary team.
- A compassionate, non-judgemental approach, with an understanding of harm reduction principles and experience supporting patients with complex needs.
- Resilience, sound clinical judgement, and a commitment to continuous professional development, quality improvement, and person-centred care.
