Saddles Mount White

Central Coast Council

Grand Saddles Lodge — Central Coast, NSW

A rare pre-opening appointment, with responsibility for establishing the spa team and operation

A new luxury property comprising five treatment rooms and a dedicated hydrothermal area

Specialist support provided throughout the opening by an experienced spa consultant

The Role

The Spa Manager is responsible for the efficient daily operation of the spa and hydrothermal area at Grand Saddles Lodge, ensuring profitability, guest satisfaction, effective leadership and consistent operating standards.

Commencing September 2026, this is a pre-opening appointment, supported throughout by an experienced spa consultant engaged to guide the opening. The consultant will provide specialist input across concept, treatment menu, product partner selection and the development of standard operating procedures. The Spa Manager will assume ownership of the operation itself: recruiting and training the therapy team, establishing the rostering and service model, commissioning the hydrothermal facility in conjunction with our contractors, and preparing the spa to receive its first guests.

The position combines the scope of an opening with the guidance of an established specialist, and would suit an experienced spa manager seeking a natural progression into pre-opening work.

Once trading, the Spa Manager will lead the therapy and reception team, manage the spa's financial performance against budget, and set the service standard expected by our guests. The position reports to the General Manager and works closely with the wider leadership team.

About You

Applicants will have a demonstrated record of managing and coaching a therapy team,

together with the operational confidence to oversee the spa floor while retaining accountability for financial performance. Experience in delivering a guest-centred approach to services and programming is essential, as is the ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with product partners and internal stakeholders.

The ideal applicant will possess the following experience, qualifications and skills:

- A minimum of three years' experience in a comparable role within a five-star spa or resort
- Pre-opening or current-facility experience is advantageous, though not essential
- Thorough working knowledge of massage and beauty modalities, and of hydrothermal operations
- A high level of business acumen, including budgeting, rostering, stock control and retail performance
- Operational management and team leadership
- Guest liaison and complaint resolution
- Work Health and Safety, with a sound understanding of hygiene and sanitation requirements
- A flexible approach to working within a high leisure-demand environment, including one weekend day as part of the ordinary working roster

Required qualifications

- Diploma of Beauty Therapy and/or a recognised massage qualification (CIBTAC, ITEC, CIDESCO or equivalent)
- Current Senior First Aid Certificate

Key Performance Outcomes

- Deliver the pre-opening milestones on schedule in conjunction with the spa consultant, encompassing recruitment, training, standard operating procedures, treatment menu and facility commissioning
- Assume responsibility for the operating budget, monitoring revenue, setting treatment and retail targets, and controlling expenses
- Provide daily, weekly and monthly reporting to the General Manager as required
- Lead the recruitment, induction, training and development of the therapy, reception and attendant team

- Respond to guest feedback promptly and professionally, with all complaints addressed within 24 hours
