Be Part of History
The Tasmania Devils Football Club is on a historic journey to build a professional AFL/AFLW club from the ground up. We are assembling a passionate and committed team to connect with fans across Tasmania and beyond, creating experiences that inspire pride, loyalty, and belonging.
Role Purpose
The Events Lead is responsible for the planning, delivery and continual improvement of the Club's event program — from match-day and corporate functions to community engagement and major milestone events. This role owns the end-to-end event lifecycle, balancing creativity and precision to deliver experiences that are on-brand, on-budget and unmistakably Tasmanian. Working across Marketing, Partnerships, Football and Operations, you'll ensure every event deepens connection with members, fans and partners, and reflects the Club's bold, purpose-led identity. Your responsibilities will include:
Event Planning & Delivery
- Lead the design, planning and execution of the Club's event calendar, including match-day functions, business networking events, community activations and partner experiences
- Deliver events to the highest professional standard, ensuring they are on-brand, on-budget and aligned with the Club's purpose and values
- Oversee end-to-end logistics including venues, catering, AV, theming, ticketing and scheduling to ensure seamless delivery
- Collaborate with Marketing and Partnerships to integrate partner activations and brand elements into every event
Match-Day Experience
- Drive the delivery of premium match-day functions, hospitality and activations for members,
partners and VIPs
- Work closely with Football, Operations and Game-Day teams to ensure events complement the on-field product and enhance the fan experience
- Ensure match-day events reflect the Club's commitment to inclusivity, innovation and community connection
- Provide clear operational leadership on match-days and during peak periods
Stakeholder Engagement & Relationship Management
- Act as the primary point of contact for stakeholders attending or involved in Club events, including corporate partners, members, community groups and government representatives
- Build and manage solid relationships with suppliers, venues and event contractors to ensure quality and cost-effectiveness
- Collaborate across the Club to align event objectives with broader strategic priorities
- Embed storytelling, inclusivity and purpose into all events to foster belonging and pride
Budget, Reporting & Continuous Improvement
- Manage event budgets, ensuring effective resource allocation and disciplined cost control
- Track and report on event outcomes, measuring success against attendance, satisfaction and commercial impact
- Implement and refine event systems,
processes and checklists to build scalable delivery as the Club grows
- Identify new opportunities to elevate the event program, enhancing brand reputation and partner satisfaction
What you'll bring
- Proven experience delivering events end-to-end in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment, ideally 3+ years in a comparable role
- Demonstrated capability managing event budgets, suppliers and competing priorities
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the confidence to work across partners, members, community groups and government
- Creative instincts balanced with operational precision; you can imagine the experience and then run the checklist that delivers it
- Calm under pressure, with the ability to think quickly and laterally when plans change
- Experience within a professional sporting club or major venue environment is highly regarded
- Working With Vulnerable People accreditation and a valid Driver's Licence are essential
The Fine Print
- Full-time, permanent, based in Hobart and reporting to the Operations and Events Manager
- Regular out-of-hours work required, including nights and weekends across the season
- A collaborative and inclusive culture with attractive benefits including quarterly wellbeing days and additional off-season leave
- Work that matters, a team that backs you, and a chance to be part of something truly historic
- Salary guidance of $70,000 - $75,000 + superannuation, commensurate with experience
