About the Role
This newly created role provides an opportunity to establish and lead QLeave's intelligence capability, supporting improved compliance outcomes across QLeave's portable long service leave schemes.
Working within a risk-based and data-driven compliance environment, you will generate actionable intelligence to inform compliance strategies, identify emerging risks, and develop targeted treatment approaches.
As a senior specialist role, you will also provide leadership and guidance to a direct report, supporting the delivery of high-quality intelligence and analytics outcomes.
Your Responsibilities
In this role, you will:
- Lead the intelligence team and provide expert advice, strategic guidance and supervision in the delivery of intelligence frameworks, standards, operations, analysis and governance processes.
- Design and deliver compliance risk assessments using quantitative and qualitative data sources and develop intelligence-based compliance treatment plans.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of compliance treatment strategies and recommend adjustments based on intelligence and compliance activity outcomes.
- Build and maintain dashboards, intelligence tools and reporting frameworks to present complex data and intelligence findings clearly to diverse audiences.
- Provide expert subject matter and administrative advice to the Compliance and Enforcement team and senior leaders on intelligence capability development and application.

What We're Looking For
QLeave appointments are based on selecting the eligible applicant best suited to the position. We will assess your application based on your experience, potential for development, and your personal qualities.
For this role, we will consider your:
- Knowledge and demonstrated experience in using intelligence and data analytics to shape future-focused regulatory approaches by translating complex data into clear insights to inform long-term compliance strategies.
- Experience in leading, supervising, coaching, mentoring and developing professional capability of others.
- Ability to drive outcomes through intelligence-based decision-making and targeted interventions in a regulatory environment.
- Experience using databases and analytics tools to produce, analyse, identify and understand intelligence data in accordance with Queensland legislative frameworks.
- Knowledge of and experience applying the intelligence lifecycle, analytic techniques, research ability and web scraping.
- Experience conducting complex predictive and exploratory data analysis (EDA) to identify trends, patterns, and outliers.
- Capability to problem solve and lead with data ambiguity across dynamic environments.
- Lead and oversee the intelligence cycle (direction, collection, collation, analysis, and dissemination) and outcomes.
While there are no mandatory qualifications for this role, relevant professional qualifications in intelligence, are highly desirable.
