Rollingstock Maintenance Technician (Mechanical)
Company Overview:
Our valued key turn transport services national client who operates throughout Australia & who is responsible for the supply, operation, and maintenance of the Parramatta Light Rail Stage 1 network. They are seeking skilled Mechanical Techniciansto support our light rail vehicle (LRV) maintenance team during a period of increased workload.
Role Tasks & Duties:
The role includes, but is not limited to:
- Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on Light Rail Vehicles.
- Diagnose and repair mechanical faults in rollingstock systems
- Support vehicle handovers and incident recovery procedures
- Ensure compliance with all safety, quality, and operational standards
- Assist in on-the-job training and knowledge sharing
- Participate in rotating on-call rosters and shift work
- Maintain a safe, clean, and compliant work workplace
- Collaborate with operations and asset management teams to meet KPIs
Required Skills, Experience and Competencies:
- Certificate III in Mechanical Engineeringor similar mechanical trade qualification
- Certificate IV or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering (desirable)
- Minimum 3 years of rollingstock experience (required for Level 5 pay rate)
- Solid understanding of rail vehicle mechanical systems (Urbos 100 or equivalent preferred)
- Excellent fault-finding and troubleshooting skills
- Ability to work autonomously and within a team
- Strong computer literacy, including MS Office suite
- Emergency response experience highly regarded
- Willingness to work rotating shifts and on-call as required
