McIlwraith Quarry is seeking an experienced D10 Dozer Driver / Quarry Operator to join our close-knit hard rock quarry team.

McIlwraith Quarry is a hands-on hard rock quarry operation where teamwork, communication, reliability, and attitude matter. Every person on site plays an important role in keeping production moving safely and efficiently.

The successful applicant will primarily operate a D10 dozer in a hard rock quarry environment. Experience operating large dozers in quarry, civil, mining, or bulk earthmoving environments is highly desirable, with hard rock quarry experience being ideal.

This is not a role for someone who only wants to sit on one machine. We are looking for a versatile operator with a good attitude who is willing to jump on different machines when required and assist with general quarry operations.

Mechanical awareness will also be highly regarded. The right person will take pride in their machine, complete proper pre-start checks, identify potential issues early, and communicate maintenance concerns.

Key Responsibilities

- Operate a D10 dozer safely and efficiently within a hard rock quarry environment.
- Push up and manage quarry stockpiles to maintain safe, practical, and efficient access.
- Maintain benches, ramps, pads, haul roads, working faces, and general operating areas.
- Support crushing and screening operations as required.
- Work closely with loader, excavator, crusher, screen, and haulage operators.
- Operate other machinery where experienced, competent, and required.
- Complete daily pre-start inspections and basic machine checks.
- Identify and report maintenance issues, wear, damage, leaks, abnormal noises, or performance concerns.
- Assist with basic maintenance tasks where capable and authorised.
- Help prevent future breakdowns by recognising early warning signs and communicating them clearly.
- Follow site procedures, traffic management requirements,



and quarry safety rules.
- Maintain good housekeeping around machines, stockpiles, and work areas.
- Assist with general quarry duties as needed.

About You

- You will ideally have previous dozer experience in a hard rock quarry or similar production environment. Experience operating larger dozers, particularly a D10 or similar-sized machine, will be highly regarded.
- Quarry, civil, earthmoving, mining, or crushing and screening experience will also be well regarded.
- Experience in coal mining is welcome, however this role requires a different mindset. McIlwraith Quarry operates as a close team, and we need people who are practical, reliable, switched on, and willing to help where needed.
- The right person will be safety-focused, dependable, mechanically aware, and easy to work with. A good attitude is essential. We are looking for someone who takes pride in their machine, understands production, and can work well in a smaller team workplace.
- D10 experience highly regarded.
- Hard rock quarry experience ideal.
- Willingness to operate different machines where required.
- Strong commitment to safety.
- Ability to complete machinery pre-starts and basic checks.
