Who are we looking for?

We are seeking a Scholarly Impact Librarian to join QUT Library, Education Portfolio, Academic Division.

This position leads the Library’s publication metrics and open texts services. This includes responsibility for developing and coordinating training supporting both services. The position contributes to promoting the responsible use of metrics at QUT. The position coordinates the Library’s bibliometric analyses.The position sits within the Office for Scholarly Communications and contributes to the Library’s strategic priorities. The position collaborates with Research Strategy and Policy and the Office of Research Services.This position reports to the Manager, Scholarly Communication Services for career planning, development, and performance expectations.

What you need to succeed

- Education, training and/or relevant experience equivalent to postgraduate qualifications or progress towards postgraduate qualifications in a relevant field such as information management, data analytics or librarianship and extensive relevant experience.
- Extensive knowledge of developments and advancements in the area of bibliometric data, both internationally and nationally, and experience applying bibliometric knowledge and practices to evaluate and inform research performance.
- Extensive understanding of, and experience, in the use of bibliographic metadata in research information systems, publication repositories and citation databases.
- Proven ability to influence through effective communication and to successfully interact with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders.
- Demonstrated highly developed verbal, oral and written communication skills including experience writing high quality reports, correspondence, documents, and materials.
- Extensive understanding of planning, implementing and reporting of information for research projects.




- Demonstrated success in developing and delivering high quality training and support to professional and academic staff.
