Maintenance Electrician (A-Grade) - 12 Month Fixed-Term Contract

We are seeking a motivated and safety-focused Maintenance Electrician to join our maintenance team on a 12-month fixed-term contract at our modern food manufacturing facility located south of the river in the Cardup area.

This is an excellent prospect to become part of a supportive team where you'll play a key role in ensuring the reliability, efficiency and performance of our production plant and equipment.

About the Role

Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, you will be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting and improving fixed plant equipment to maximise production uptime while ensuring the highest standards of food safety, quality and workplace safety.

Key Responsibilities

- Carry out preventative, predictive and breakdown maintenance on fixed plant and production equipment.
- Diagnose and repair electrical faults efficiently to minimise downtime.
- Perform fault finding on PLC-controlled equipment, sensors, drives, motors and control systems.
- Maintain and repair conveyors, packaging equipment, pumps, mixers, filling machinery and automated production lines.
- Install, test and commission electrical equipment and machinery.
- Read and interpret electrical drawings, wiring diagrams and technical documentation.
- Conduct routine inspections to identify equipment reliability improvements.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance plant performance and reduce downtime.
- Complete maintenance records, work orders and documentation using the CMMS.
- Assist with planned shutdowns, equipment upgrades and capital projects.
- Ensure all work complies with Australian Standards, food safety requirements and site procedures.




- Work collaboratively with production and maintenance teams to achieve operational targets.
- Promote and maintain a robust safety culture by following all WHS policies and safe work practices.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

- Current Western Australian A-Grade Electrical Licence .
- Previous experience as a Maintenance Electrician within a food manufacturing, FMCG or processing environment.
- Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills on industrial electrical systems.
- Experience with PLC-controlled machinery (fault finding ability highly regarded).
- Knowledge of variable speed drives, motors, sensors, instrumentation and automated production equipment.
- Sound understanding of preventative maintenance systems and reliability practices.
- Current Driver's Licence.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently.
- Strong communication skills and a positive, team-focused attitude.
- Commitment to workplace safety, quality and food safety standards.

Desirable

- Restricted Electrical Licence (if applicable for instrumentation work).
- Forklift, EWP or Working at Heights tickets.
- Experience using CMMS maintenance systems.
- Experience working in HACCP or GMP-controlled manufacturing environments.
