We're looking for an experienced Compliance Manager to lead our compliance function across a growing national transport network. This is a hands‑on leadership role where you'll lead a dedicated team, partner closely with operational leaders and play an active role in the day‑to‑day management of transport compliance across the business.

You'll be someone who enjoys building capability in others, creating strong working relationships and rolling up your sleeves when needed. While you'll help shape compliance strategy and continuous improvement initiatives, you'll also remain connected to the operational realities of the business and support your team in delivering practical outcomes.

About the Role

As Compliance Manager, you will:

- Lead, mentor and develop a team of Compliance Coordinators, creating a high‑performing and engaged culture
- Provide day‑to‑day leadership and support to the compliance team while fostering collaboration across the broader business
- Oversee compliance with HVNL, NHVR, Chain of Responsibility, Mass Management, Maintenance Management and Basic Fatigue Management requirements
- Lead the management and monitoring of Electronic Work Diaries (EWDs), fatigue compliance and associated investigations
- Review compliance performance,



identify trends and develop practical solutions to reduce risk and improve outcomes
- Support operational leaders with expert advice, coaching and guidance on transport compliance requirements
- Build strong working relationships across the business, acting as a trusted partner to internal stakeholders
- Coordinate internal and external audits, investigations and regulatory reporting obligations
- Manage relationships with industry bodies and regulators including NHVR, QTA and NatRoads
- Deliver compliance training and education programs that build capability and accountability across all levels of the business
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives that enhance compliance performance, reporting and operational efficiency
- Ensure compliance remains practical, effective and supportive of operational success

About You

To be successful in this role, you will bring:

- Strong leadership experience within transport, logistics, compliance or safety environments
- Demonstrated experience leading and developing teams while creating accountability and engagement
- Extensive knowledge of HVNL, NHVR requirements, Chain of Responsibility, fatigue management and Electronic Work Diary compliance
- A practical, solutions‑focused approach with the ability to balance compliance obligations with operational requirements




- Strong stakeholder management skills and the ability to build credibility across all levels of the business
- Experience conducting audits, investigations and regulatory reporting activities
- Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills with a strong attention to detail
- Confidence in providing advice, coaching and support to operational leaders
- A commitment to continuous improvement and delivering high standards
- Relevant qualifications in Compliance, Safety, Risk Management or a related discipline (desirable)
