Highlands Paint and Panel is seeking an experienced Panel Beater to join our team in Mittagong, NSW. This is a full-time position offering the opportunity to work with a dedicated automotive trades business. You will be responsible for repairing vehicle body damage, restoring vehicles to their original condition, and working collaboratively with our paint and panel specialists to deliver high-quality results to our customers.
What you'll be doing
- Assess vehicle damage and determine the most effective repair approach
- Remove damaged body panels and components using appropriate tools and techniques
- Use specialised equipment to reshape and straighten vehicle panels and frames
- Repair or replace damaged sections of vehicle bodywork to restore structural integrity
- Prepare vehicles for painting by ensuring panels are correctly aligned and smoothed
- Work collaboratively with the paint team to ensure seamless handovers and quality outcomes
- Maintain accurate records of work completed and time spent on each vehicle
- Perform quality checks on your own work to ensure compliance with industry standards
- Maintain a clean and safe working environmen
- Build and maintain positive relationships with customers and team members
What we're looking for
- Trade qualification in panel beating or equivalent practical experience
- Proven experience working as a panel beater in the automotive industry
- Proficiency in using panel beating tools and equipment, including dollies, hammers, and modern straightening equipment
- Strong understanding of vehicle construction and repair techniques
- Ability to assess damage accurately and plan repairs efficiently
- Attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality workmanship
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- A valid driver's licence and reliable transportation
- Physical fitness and ability to work in a hands-on role
- Knowledge of vehicle safety systems and modern automotive materials is advantageous
