Talent Acquisition Advisor - Leading Australian Manufacturer - 4 day week

A privately owned Australian electronics manufacturer based in Winston Hills, designing and building electronic products locally rather than importing off-the-shelf. That local capability is a genuine edge. It underpins their defence industry accreditations and their credibility with the specialised clients they supply.

The business is growing and hiring has become business-critical as they scale into the US. They're pivoting from a consultant model to build their recruitment function in-house for the first time, inside a small and strategic People & Culture team.

The opportunity

You'll own talent acquisition as the first dedicated in-house hire in this space, building the function from the ground up. The focus is low volume, high complexity hiring into niche engineering and defence-adjacent roles. These are specialist, hard-to-fill searches that need a genuine partner, not a job-board approach. You'll work closely with hiring managers who can trust you to run a complex brief end to end, and you'll help scale the hiring approach as the business grows into the US.

Importantly, this is a genuine part-time prospect, structured at 0.8 FTE. A real part-time role at this level is rare, and this is a genuinely flexible offer, not a scaled‑back version of a full-time job.

What you’ll do

- Own the full recruitment lifecycle for niche engineering, technical, and defence‑adjacent roles
- Partner directly with hiring managers on complex,



hard-to-fill briefs
- Build in‑house recruitment processes and ways of working from scratch, replacing the previous consultant‑led model
- Balance a low‑volume, high‑complexity workload where quality of hire matters far more than throughput
- Contribute to scaling the talent approach as the business expands into the US market

What you’ll bring

- Proven in‑house or agency recruitment experience, ideally with exposure to technical, engineering, or specialist/niche hiring (strong generalist TA backgrounds with the right stability and adaptability will also be considered)
- Comfort operating autonomously in a standalone role, without a large TA team around you
- Strong stakeholder management skills, since much of this role is partnering with hiring managers and getting the brief right
- A quality‑over‑quantity mindset suited to complex, low‑volume searches rather than high‑throughput recruiting
- Tenure and stability in your track record
