The Organisation:
A leading & growing Retail organisation based in Sydney is seeking a dynamic and hands-on data & analytics leader to execute and be accountable for their existing data strategy and delivery of end-to-end data solutions that will be critical in enabling data-driven decision making. This role is hybrid with a minimum of 3 days in the office.
Key Priorities of the Role:
- Translate strategic objectives from the CIO into actionable delivery roadmaps, coordinating cross-functional teams including Data, IT, software development, vendors, and external data and analytics partners.
- Develop and manage delivery plans, success metrics, quality gates, and timelines, ensuring measurable progress and proactive planning across all initiatives.
- Own and manage the Data Services Agile sprint board, including sprint planning, requirements, estimations, capacity planning, dependency management, and alignment with the broader IT roadmap.
- Lead and manage internal teams and external partners, monitoring performance against agreed KPIs, delivery objectives, and service outcomes while engaging additional partners where required.
- Drive data-driven decision-making by collaborating with stakeholders to define KPIs, develop reports and dashboards, and enable the effective use of data across the business.
- Oversee the management,
optimisation, and governance of the organisation's data platforms, including Snowflake, dbt, Apache Airflow, Power BI, Microsoft SQL Server, and other data integration technologies.
- Champion the adoption of AI capabilities within the Data Services team, leveraging tools such as Claude Code and Snowflake Cortex (Cortex Analyst and Cortex Search) to improve productivity, analytics, and development outcomes.
Your Skillset:
- Hands-on experience with Snowflake as an enterprise data warehouse, supported by strong SQL and Python development skills.
- Experience building and orchestrating modern data pipelines using Apache Airflow and dbt.
- Proficiency in leveraging AI-powered development tools, including Claude Code, to improve productivity and solution delivery.
- Solid stakeholder management and business partnering skills, with the ability to build trusted relationships across business and operational teams.
- Demonstrated commitment to continuous improvement, with a proactive approach to adopting new tools, technologies, and best practices.
- Collaborative leadership style with experience mentoring, coaching, and developing high-performing teams.
Salary:
180k + super
