Shift Leader

Overview

Lead a multidisciplinary team to deliver safe, efficient, and high‑performing operations within a highly automated distribution centre. Drive excellence in health and safety, productivity, and equipment performance while acting as the key point of contact for technical and operational issues.

Responsibilities

- Lead daily shift operations, ensuring high system performance and minimal downtime.
- Monitor and resolve technical and operational issues in real time.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives using data insights and performance metrics.
- Oversee CMMS reporting and ensure accurate maintenance tracking.
- Set, monitor, and achieve KPIs across safety, productivity, and service delivery.
- Ensure smooth shift handovers and conduct root cause analysis on system issues.
- Maintain strong communication with internal and external stakeholders.
- Develop team capability through coaching, mentoring, and structured development plans.
- Promote a culture of safety, accountability, and operational excellence.
- Support reliability and performance of automated material handling systems.

Qualifications

- Qualification in mechanical, electrical engineering,



or a related technical discipline.
- Proven experience leading teams in an automated or technical workplace.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret system data and diagnostics.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to manage escalations and act as a key technical point of contact.
- Experience with automated systems such as ASRS (advantageous).
- A proactive, detail‑oriented mindset with a focus on continuous improvement.
