Job Description
The Wounded Heroes Association Inc is seeking an experienced and passionate Event Co‑Ordinator to join our team on a contract basis. Based in Hyde Park, QLD 4812, this role is fundamental to delivering meaningful and impactful events that honour and support our community of wounded heroes. As Event Co‑Ordinator, you will be responsible for planning, coordinating and executing a diverse range of events that align with our mission to provide support, recognition and camaraderie to those who have served. This position requires a proactive, organised individual who can manage multiple events simultaneously whilst maintaining attention to detail and ensuring exceptional experiences for all participants.
- Plan, coordinate and execute events from conception through to completion, including logistics, budgeting and resource allocation
- Liaise with internal stakeholders, external vendors, sponsors and community partners to ensure seamless event delivery
- Manage event budgets, track expenses and ensure cost-effectiveness without compromising on quality
- Develop and implement event marketing and promotional strategies to maximise attendance and engagement
- Coordinate all operational aspects including venue selection, catering, entertainment, sound and audio‑visual requirements
- Create and maintain detailed event timelines, checklists and contingency plans
- Manage event registration, ticketing and attendee communications
- Conduct post‑event evaluations and compile reports to measure success and identify areas for improvement
- Maintain relationships with key stakeholders and ensure consistent communication throughout the event planning process
- Support the broader marketing and communications objectives of the Wounded Heroes Association Inc

About the Candidate
- Proven experience in event coordination or event management, ideally in the not‑for‑profit, community services or defence sector
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple events simultaneously whilst maintaining high standards of organisation and attention to detail
- Strong project management skills with the ability to work to tight deadlines and adapt to changing circumstances
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build solid relationships with diverse stakeholders
- Proficiency in event management software and Microsoft Office Suite
- Proven budget management and financial tracking experience
- Creative thinking and problem‑solving abilities to overcome logistical challenges
- A genuine passion for supporting the veteran and defence community
- Current valid driver's licence
- Working With Children Check or willingness to obtain one if required
- Flexibility to work outside standard business hours when event requirements demand
