Role Description

The Server Engineer contract role at Bright OS is an on-site position based in Sydney, NSW. In this role, the engineer will manage and maintain server infrastructure, ensuring high availability, performance, and security for Bright’s integrated health platform. Day-to-day tasks include monitoring server health, diagnosing and resolving technical issues, managing databases, and configuring operating systems and related services. The engineer will collaborate with product and development teams to support new features, optimize backend performance, and implement best practices for system scalability. Documentation of configurations, incident resolutions,



and improvement plans will be a regular part of the responsibilities.

Qualifications

- Candidates should possess strong troubleshooting skills to diagnose, analyze, and resolve server and application issues efficiently.
- Candidates should possess skills working with databases and related data storage technologies to maintain performance, reliability, and data integrity.
- Candidates should possess infrastructure skills, including experience with server hardware, virtualized environments, and cloud or hybrid infrastructure setups.
- Candidates should possess operating systems skills, including administration, configuration, and maintenance of Windows and other relevant server operating systems.
- Relevant experience with monitoring tools, logging frameworks, and performance tuning for backend services is beneficial.
- A background in networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, firewalls, load balancers) and security best practices is advantageous.
- Prior experience in health tech, SaaS platforms, or high-availability consumer applications is a plus.
- A degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent practical experience is preferred.
- Ability to work collaboratively on-site in Sydney, communicate clearly with cross-functional teams, and adapt to a fast-paced environment is essential.
