YMCA Queensland is seeking an exceptional OSHC Service Director to provide strategic and operational leadership across one of our largest and most established Outside School Hours Care services, supporting more than 175 children each session.
This is an exciting opportunity to lead a high-performing service where you'll influence quality, compliance, people, financial performance and long-term growth, while working alongside an experienced Coordinator and leadership team to deliver exceptional outcomes for children and families.

About the Role
As the OSHC Service Director, you'll provide strategic direction and operational oversight across all aspects of the service, ensuring safe, compliant and high-quality programs are delivered every day.
Working closely with the Coordinator, you'll foster a positive and collaborative team culture while providing leadership across governance, compliance,
workforce planning, financial management and continuous improvement.
You'll also act as the Nominated Supervisor, ensuring the service consistently meets the requirements of the Education and Care Services National Law, National Regulations and National Quality Framework.
What You’ll Be Responsible For
- Leading the overall strategic and operational performance of the service
- Supporting and mentoring the Coordinator and leadership team
- Driving quality improvement and educational excellence aligned with My Time, Our Place
- Leading the development and implementation of the Quality Improvement Plan (QIP)
- Ensuring compliance with the National Quality Framework, National Law and YMCA policies
- Workforce planning, recruitment and staff development
- Financial oversight, budgeting and operational sustainability
- Monitoring occupancy, enrolments and service growth opportunities
- Building positive relationships with children, families, schools and the wider community
- Leading safeguarding, risk management and child safety practices
- Preparing the service for Assessment and Rating, audits and regulatory visits
- Championing continuous improvement and organisational initiatives
About You
You’re an experienced and inspiring leader who enjoys building capable teams, creating positive cultures and delivering outstanding outcomes for children and families.
You’ll bring a balance of strategic thinking and hands‑on leadership,
with the confidence to make informed decisions while supporting your team to succeed.
You’ll also have:
- Demonstrated leadership experience within OSHC, early childhood education or children’s services
- Strong knowledge of the National Quality Framework, National Law and National Regulations
- Experience leading large teams and complex service operations
- Strong operational, financial and workforce management skills
- Experience preparing for Assessment and Rating or other quality assurance processes
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
- A cooperative leadership style with a passion for mentoring and developing others
- Experience building strong partnerships with families, schools and community stakeholders
- Current Blue Card (or ability to obtain)
- Current First Aid, CPR, Asthma and Anaphylaxis Management certifications (or willingness to obtain)
Desirable
- Qualifications in Early Childhood Education, Teaching, Community Services, Leadership, Business or a related discipline
- Experience as a Nominated Supervisor or Responsible Person
- Experience leading large-scale OSHC services
- Experience driving service growth, occupancy and operational performance
