We are seeking an experienced Lead Electrical Engineer to provide technical leadership and support the successful delivery of wind farm projects from award through to commissioning and handover. Responsibilities
- Support a team of site-based electrical engineers on allocated projects across Australia/New Zealand.
- Overall responsibility for the execution of allocated projects from correct awarding through to commissioning and handover.
- Ensure compliance that the team engineering activities are aligned with Vestas Standard operating procedures.
- Participate in engineering investigations and contribute to the development of improved department controls and systems.
- Support Project Management and site teams with internal and external stakeholders to ensure technical queries, requests for information variations and payment claims are assessed in a timely manner.
- Support site engineers to create and facilitate the integrated platform for Safety in Design Reviews and Project risk workshops.
Qualifications
Under/Post Graduate Degree in Electrical Engineering.
Competencies
- Management of site engineers.
- Review of Electrical design using practical design management techniques.
- Experience with Transmission line, substations,
and reticulation design.
- Experience negotiating with major stakeholders, both clients/contractors.
- Create technical specifications for EBoP equipment and conduct a thorough review of the specifications.
- Negotiate EBoP equipment's technical specifications with OEMs to ensure compliance with International and AS/NZ Standards.
- Ability to operate within high-pressure environment.
- Experience in construction of Wind farms highly valued.
- Advanced use of MS Office.
- Experience with using document control systems highly valued (Eg. Team binder).
- Strong verbal and written communication / negotiation.
- Commercial and Risk Awareness.
