With ongoing growth in business and an expanding pipeline of commercial and residential fit-out projects, XH Construction Pty Ltd has an exciting new job opportunity for an experienced Carpenter to join our team.

XH Construction is a Brisbane-based construction subcontractor delivering residential renovations, extensions and interior fit-out projects across Queensland. The successful candidate will work across framing, partitions, ceilings, plasterboard linings, door and window installations and finishing carpentry works, ensuring all works are completed in accordance with project specifications, Australian Standards, building codes and WHS requirements.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Studying drawings, specifications and work orders to determine materials, dimensions, setting-out requirements and installation methods.

Measuring, setting out, cutting, shaping, assembling and fixing timber, lightweight steel, plasterboard and other materials to construct frameworks, partitions, ceilings, structures, linings and fittings.

Constructing, installing and repairing wall framing, ceiling systems, partition walls, bulkheads, doors, windows, frames, skirting, architraves and other fixtures. Installing plasterboard sheets, ceiling panels, wall linings and associated carpentry structures in accordance with project plans and quality requirements.





Performing finishing carpentry works, including trims, edges, cladding, linings and fit-outs to achieve a high standard of workmanship.

Operating hand tools, power tools and carpentry equipment safely and efficiently.

Ensuring work is carried out in compliance with workplace health and safety (WHS) requirements, building codes, Australian Standards, environmental requirements and company policies.

Coordinating with site supervisors, project managers and other trades, including electrical, plumbing, painting and plastering trades, to ensure timely completion of tasks and project milestones. Maintaining a clean and safe worksite, identifying defects or hazards, and reporting any issues to management promptly.

About You:

Strong technical carpentry skills with the ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.

High level of workmanship, accuracy and attention to detail. Reliable, punctual and able to work independently or as part of a team across active construction sites. Physically fit and capable of performing manual tasks in a construction environment. Strong communication skills and a proactive approach to problem-solving and coordination with other trades. Commitment to workplace safety, quality outcomes and timely project delivery.

Qualification and Experience:

Relevant trade qualification (Certificate III in Carpentry or equivalent).

Minimum 2 years' post-qualification experience as a Carpenter (residential, commercial construction or fit-out experience preferred).
