We're looking for a proactive and personable WHS Officer to support our fast growing labour-hire company. You will split your time between on-site safety audits of our manufacturing and warehousing clients, and managing WorkCover claims and injury cases. This is a diverse role suited to someone who's equally comfortable walking a site with a clipboard as they are supporting an injured worker through their return-to-work journey.
You'll be the face of our safety culture with clients, solving problems on the spot and ensuring compliance without making it feel like a tick-box exercise. On the other side of the role, you'll manage the practical and human side of injury management, liaising with WorkCover, coordinating claims, and helping people get back to work safely and confidently.
What You'll Be Doing
- Conducting site audits independently and accompanied by recruitment consultants
- Identifying hazards and risks, and working collaboratively with clients to resolve compliance issues
- Writing clear, thorough job risk assessments and safety documentation
- Managing WorkCover claims from lodgement through to resolutionSupporting injured workers with empathy throughout their recovery and return-to-work process
- Liaising with WorkCover, medical providers, and clients to coordinate suitable duties and return-to-work plans
- Keeping accurate records and staying on top of administrative requirements and deadlines
What We're Looking For
- Minimum Cert IV in Workplace Health and Safety
- ICAM Investigator certification (desirable not compulsory)
- Confidence to work autonomously and conduct site visits solo
- A practical problem solver who can navigate compliance issues collaboratively rather than just enforcing rules
- Excellent attention to detail and administration skills, particularly for risk assessment documentation
- Experience managing WorkCover claims and return-to-work processes is highly advantageous, but we're also open to a quick, self-motivated learner who's keen to develop in this area
