GC HeartCare is seeking a skilled ECG Technician to join our cardiology practice in Southport, QLD. This is a part-time/full-time position in a family friendly and highly collegiate team. As an ECG Technician, you will play a vital role in both the clinical and imaging aspects of our practice, operating specialised equipment to assist our team in providing optimal health care to our patients.This position is essential to our commitment to patients to ensure they receive high-quality evidence based care.

Key responsibilities

- Perform 12-lead electrocardiogram tests and assist in cardiac diagnostic testing in accordance with clinical protocols and patient safety standards
- Prepare patients for ECG and Stress Testing/Echo, including explaining the process, positioning patients appropriately, and ensuring their comfort and dignity throughout the examination
- Assist in peformance of Stress Testing/Stress Echo
- Apply electrodes and sensor leads accurately to patients to obtain high-quality ECG tracings in both the clinical and diagnostic imaging setting
- Maintain accurate and detailed patient records, including ECG reports, test results and relevant clinical documentation
- Communicate effectively with patients, clinical staff and consultant cardiologits to ensure seamless workflow and quality patient outcomes
- Ensure strict adherence to infection control protocols, health and safety regulations, and patient confidentiality requirements
- Operate and maintain ECG and Holter Monitoring equipment , ensuring all devices are calibrated, functioning correctly and meet quality assurance standards
- Maintain supplies required for ECG's, Holter Monitoring and Diagnostic Imaging
- Maintaining Defibrillator and associated emergency equipment, ensuring all devices are calibrated, functioning correctly and meet quality assurance standards
- Assist with the scheduling, organisation and coordination of cardiac diagnostic procedures as required

What we’re looking for

- A minimum qualification of HLTCAR001Perform electrocardiography (ECG))



from an accredited institution or recognised training programme
- At least oneyear of post-qualification employment at an appropriate skill level
- Demonstrable experience operating ECG equipment and performing electrocardiogram procedures in a clinical healthcare setting
- Demonstrable experience assisting in Stress Testing/Stress Echo.
- Excellent attention to detail and the ability to produce high-quality ECG tracings consistently
- Proficient communication skills with the ability to interact compassionately with patients of varying backgrounds and health conditions
- Sound knowledge of infection control practices, health and safety standards, and patient privacy legislation
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary healthcare team
- Reliability, punctuality and professional conduct at all times
- Experience in a busy cardiac imaging or diagnostic imaging environment
