As a Small Engine Mechanic at YardWorx Equipment, you will be responsible for the diagnosis, repair, and maintenance of a wide range of small engine equipment, including lawnmowers, chainsaws, trimmers, and other outdoor power tools. This full-time role is based in our workshop in our Noosaville, Queensland store and will play a crucial part in ensuring our customers' equipment is running at peak performance.
What you'll be doing
- Troubleshoot and diagnose issues with small engines and related components
- Perform routine maintenance, such as oil changes, tune-ups, and filter replacements
- Repair and replace faulty engine parts, including carburettors, ignition systems, and fuel systems
- Test repaired equipment to ensure proper functionality
- Maintain detailed records of all work performed
- Provide excellent customer service and advise customers on proper equipment care and usage
- Assist with the assembly and preparation of new equipment for sale
What we're looking for
- Formal qualifications in small engine repair or mechanics, or a minimum of 2 years' experience in a similar role
- Robust technical knowledge and troubleshooting skills for a variety of small engine equipment
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics
- Good customer service orientation and communication skills
- Attention to detail and problem-solving abilities
- Reliable, self-motivated, and able to work independently or as part of a team
