Not Just Bendy Hypermobility Services is a specialist physiotherapy practice based in Eight Mile Plains, Brisbane, Queensland. We focus on the assessment, treatment and long-term management of individuals with Hypermobility Spectrum Disorders (HSD), hypermobile Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome (hEDS), chronic pain and associated complex conditions.
Our multidisciplinary approach supports clients with a range of co-existing conditions, including dysautonomia, Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome (POTS), Mast Cell Activation Syndrome (MCAS), pelvic health concerns, headache disorders and complex musculoskeletal presentations. Task & responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive musculoskeletal and functional assessments for clients presenting with hypermobility-related and complex musculoskeletal conditions.
- Assess and manage clients with Hypermobility Spectrum Disorders (HSD), hypermobile Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome (hEDS), chronic pain and associated conditions.
- Develop, implement and review individualised physiotherapy treatment and rehabilitation plans.
- Deliver evidence-based physiotherapy interventions, including exercise therapy, rehabilitation and manual therapy techniques.
- Lead individual and group-based exercise rehabilitation programmes.
- Provide education and self-management strategies to support long-term symptom management and functional improvement.
- Monitor client progress and modify treatment programmes according to clinical outcomes and goals.
- Maintain accurate clinical records, treatment notes, reports and documentation in accordance with professional standards.
- Liaise with medical practitioners, specialists, allied health professionals, NDIS stakeholders and other members of the multidisciplinary team to coordinate patient care.
- Participate in case discussions, service development initiatives, clinical education and ongoing career development activities.
Qualification & experience
- Essential Bachelor's Degree in Physiotherapy or equivalent qualification.
- Current unrestricted registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
- Minimum 1,5 years' post-graduate experience as a Physiotherapist, including at least 6 months of full-time equivalent experience in musculoskeletal physiotherapy involving assessment, treatment and rehabilitation of acute and chronic musculoskeletal conditions.
- Demonstrated experience conducting musculoskeletal and functional assessments.
- Experience developing and implementing evidence-based rehabilitation and exercise therapy programmes.
- Strong clinical reasoning, problem-solving and documentation skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
- Advantageous: Experience assessing and treating clients with Hypermobility Spectrum Disorders (HSD), hypermobile Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome (hEDS), chronic pain conditions or other complex musculoskeletal presentations will be highly regarded, preferably with at least six months of relevant clinical experience.
- Experience delivering exercise-based rehabilitation programmes or group exercise classes.
- Experience working within multidisciplinary healthcare environments.
- Experience liaising with medical practitioners and allied health professionals to coordinate patient care.
- Knowledge of conditions commonly associated with hypermobility, including chronic pain, dysautonomia, POTS, MCAS, pelvic health concerns and headache disorders.
