Sutherland Presbyterian Church Preschool is a not-for-profit, community-based preschool which has been honouring our Saviour Jesus Christ by caring for the needs of children and their families for over fifty years. We have a strong commitment to child safe practices and these are a key element of our program and learning space design.

We are a spacious, 29-place centre which caters to children aged between 2 – 6 years old. We operate from 8:00am – 4:30pm, Monday – Friday during NSW School Terms only.

We are currently seeking to add to our team of qualified and qualified early childhood Educators. This is a temporary relief position Monday/ Tuesday and possibly Wednesday, for Term 3, 2026, while current staff are on leave, with the possibility of additional casual work on other days,

About you:

You are an enthusiastic and Diploma-qualified Early Childhood Educator who personally affirms the philosophy of our preschool and is committed to child safe practice. You are a skilled communicator, able to build positive relationships and work in partnership with children, families and teammates. You will be skilled at weaving contemporary evidence based practice throughout the program design, with a strong understanding of the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF) and the National Quality Framework (NQF).



You will possess the ability to take responsibility for your own work within the team and have a strong desire for further professional learning and growth.

You are able to work a variable roster, sometimes starting at 8:00am and sometimes finishing at 4:30pm (but not both on the same day!). Ideally, you will have experience in meeting the needs of children who have additional needs.

Diploma of Early Education and Care or equivalent

Understanding of, strong commitment to, and willingness to follow child safe practices in our setting.

Strong understanding of the EYLF and contemporary early learning theories

The ability to work with team approach to curriculum planning

Current First Aid and CPR Certificate, Geccko training, valid Working With Children Check, and the right to work in Australia.

The knowledge and ability to work within the following additional frameworks:

Relational, place-based and slow pedagogies

Play-based learning

Interest and skill in working with children who have additional needs.
