About the Role

Lead an organisation creating lasting healing for Stolen Generations Survivors and future generations.

Coota Girls Aboriginal Corporation is seeking an exceptional Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander leader to become our next Chief Executive Officer.

This is a rare opportunity to lead one of Australia's most respected Aboriginal organisations supporting Stolen Generations Survivors, their descendants and families. Guided by culture, community and healing, Coota Girls Aboriginal Corporation exists to honour the strength of Survivors while creating a stronger future for generations to come.

Reporting directly to the Board of Directors, you will lead an organisation built on courage, truth‑telling and healing. Working alongside an experienced leadership team, you will build upon strong foundations while shaping the organisation's next chapter through strategic growth, innovation and long‑term sustainability.

- Lead the implementation of the Strategic Plan and organisational vision.
- Champion culturally safe, trauma‑informed and community‑led service delivery.
- Build strong partnerships across Aboriginal communities, government, philanthropy and the broader not‑for‑profit sector.
- Drive organisational growth through innovation, strategic partnerships and diversified funding opportunities.
- Ensure strong governance, financial stewardship and organisational compliance.
- Foster a positive, collaborative and high‑performing workplace culture.
- Represent Coota Girls Aboriginal Corporation with authenticity and credibility across community,



government and national forums.
- Mentor and empower an experienced leadership team while strengthening organisational capability for the future.

About You

- You are an experienced executive who leads with integrity, humility and purpose.
- You understand that meaningful leadership begins with listening, building relationships and earning trust.
- You are equally comfortable sitting with Elders and community members as you are presenting to government, negotiating strategic partnerships or leading organisational change.
- Most importantly, you believe culture, healing and community should remain at the centre of every decision.

What You'll Bring

- Strong understanding of culturally safe and trauma‑informed practice.
- Experience working alongside Stolen Generations Survivors, descendants and Aboriginal communities.
- Proven organisational strategy, governance and operational leadership.
- Financial management, budgeting and risk capability.
- Experience securing government, philanthropic or diversified funding.
- Exceptional stakeholder engagement and advocacy skills.
- Experience leading high‑performing teams.
- Relevant tertiary qualifications or equivalent executive experience.
- Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander identified position.
- NSW Working With Children Check.
- National Police Check.
- Current driver's licence.
