Own stock integrity across Australia's leading educational toy retailer

Kidstuff has been putting great toys in kids' hands since 1969. Today we run 59 stores across Australia plus a fast-growing webstore — and we're looking for an Inventory Manager who takes real pride in getting stock right, everywhere, every day.

You would be joining at the right time: we're actively investing in automating and integrating our inventory systems across Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central, Retail Express and Shopify — you won't be maintaining a legacy mess, you'll be helping build what replaces it.

What you'll own

- Network-wide stock accuracy — driving stock-on-hand integrity across 59 stores, the warehouse and the webstore, so system SOH reflects physical reality
- Cycle count and stocktake programs — designing, scheduling and running structured cycle counts and full stocktakes across the network, with clear standards, store accountability and follow-through
- Discrepancy investigation and resolution — identifying variances, negative SOH, phantom stock and adjustment anomalies; getting to root cause rather than just correcting the number
- Inventory controls and procedures — building and maintaining the processes that protect accuracy day-to-day: receiving disciplines, transfer controls, adjustment governance, write-off procedures and audit trails
- Systems and data hygiene — keeping inventory records clean and consistent across Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central (ERP), Retail Express (POS) and Shopify (webstore), and improving how these systems talk to each other
- Shrinkage and loss visibility — using data to spot patterns,



flag risks and support loss-prevention outcomes across the network
- Reporting and insight — giving leadership and store teams transparent, decision-ready reporting on stock accuracy, adjustment trends and inventory health
- Reporting directly to the General Manager - you'll have genuine visibility and influence across the network

What you'll bring

- 3+ years in inventory control, stock management or a similar role — retail strongly preferred
- Genuinely strong analytical skills: confident deep in data (advanced Excel essential; SQL or Power BI a big plus) and able to trace a variance back to its cause
- Experience running cycle count and stocktake programs across multiple locations
- Experience with ERP and POS inventory systems — Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central, Retail Express or Shopify experience is a real advantage
- Sharp attention to detail and a process-improvement mindset — you spot the gap in the procedure before it becomes a gap on the shelf
- Clear communication and the ability to hold standards across store, warehouse and support-office teams
- A tertiary qualification in Supply Chain or Logistics is welcome, but hands-on experience matters too — some of the best inventory people came up through stores and warehouses
