We are seeking a reliable and hands-on Mechanical Trade Assistant to join our client’s workshop team in Archerfield. This role supports experienced tradespeople with the assembly, maintenance, overhaul and repair of mechanical components and power transmission systems, primarily within the locomotive and rail industry.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist tradespeople with mechanical assembly, repairs and overhaul activities
- Support maintenance, rebuild and servicing of mechanical components
- Use hand and power tools and perform basic mechanical tasks
- Clean, inspect and prepare parts, tools and equipment
- Maintain a safe and organised workshop environment
About You:
- Trade Assistant experience or strong mechanical aptitude
- Previous experience in automotive, heavy vehicle, machinery or workshop environments preferred
- Confident using hand and power tools with a willingness to learn
- Strong safety focus and ability to follow instructions
- Physically fit with the ability to perform manual handling tasks
