What you will be doing

- Preparing detailed structural drawings and construction documentation for commercial, industrial and residential projects, including plans, sections, elevations, details, schedules and general arrangement drawings.
- Interpreting engineering calculations, sketches, architectural drawings, specifications and design instructions.
- Coordinating structural drawings with architectural, civil, hydraulic, mechanical, electrical and other consultant documentation, identifying clashes and inconsistencies.
- Reviewing shop drawings and checking work prepared by junior and intermediate drafters.
- Working closely with structural engineers to ensure drawings accurately reflect approved engineering design.
- Allocating drafting tasks, monitoring workloads and supporting the team in meeting project deadlines.
- Maintaining drawing registers, revision records, templates and project documentation.
- Preparing drawing amendments in response to client comments, consultant coordination and RFIs.
- Attending internal project meetings and design coordination meetings as required.
- Liaising with engineers, architects, builders, consultants and clients regarding drafting and documentation requirements.
- Ensuring all drawings comply with company standards, the National Construction Code and relevant Australian Standards.
