Support Worker
About the Role
Liberty Care is currently seeking enthusiastic, caring, and professional individuals to join our team of Support Workers. This role involves working across our accommodation services, community participation programs, and individualised in-home support services.
This position is ideal for individuals who have a genuine passion for promoting the independence, inclusion, and wellbeing of people with disabilities within the community. You will support skill development and participation, helping NDIS participants achieve their goals and enhance their quality of life.
This is a challenging yet rewarding role that involves supporting participants with intellectual disabilities, mental health conditions, complex support needs, and physical assistance requirements.
Typical Duties May Include
- Supporting participants to develop and maintain independence
- Assisting participants with personal care
- Completing household tasks, including cooking, cleaning, shopping, and community access activities
- Implementing behaviour support plans to assist individuals who display challenging behaviours in achieving their goals
- Promoting participant choice, dignity, and community inclusion
- Maintaining accurate documentation and reporting as required
Essential Criteria
- Current First Aid Certificate (or willingness to obtain)
- Current CPR Certificate (or willingness to obtain)
- Current NDIS Worker Screening Check (or willingness to obtain)
- Current Working With Children Check (or willingness to obtain)
- Current Australian Driver Licence
- Knowledge of the NSW Disability Standards
- Knowledge of WHS principles, including safe manual handling procedures
- Flexibility to work casual shifts across a 24/7 rotating roster, including mornings, afternoons, active nights, sleepovers, weekends, and public holidays
- Flexibility to work across various locations throughout Sydney
- Commitment to supporting and promoting the individual needs of participants
- Ability to build positive relationships with participants and implement individual support and care plans
- A minimum of 6 months' disability support work experience is preferred. We also welcome applications from new support workers who hold a relevant disability qualification and are looking to gain valuable industry experience.
