Ally Infrastructure Pty Ltd – Smithfield NSW

We are a growing civil engineering and construction company delivering high-quality infrastructure projects across NSW, QLD, ACT, and VIC. Our team is passionate about building better communities and providing practical, long-term engineering career pathways.

The Opportunity

As a Gas Program Manager, you’ll bring not only technical depth but also a thoughtful, people-centered approach that supports and uplifts our teams as they deliver some of the Greater Sydney region’s most critical gas infrastructure work.

This role is based in Sydney, supporting a pivotal gas infrastructure initiative that is key to the region's ongoing energy transition and security. While adaptable work is part of how we operate, you’ll play an important role overseeing multiple work fronts across Sydney and its surrounding areas, with regular engagement that helps keep our planning, asset management, and construction activities aligned and progressing smoothly.

Key Responsibilities

In this role, your voice, perspective, and strategic organisational strengths will shape how we plan, manage, and deliver complex gas programs.

Lead and coordinate comprehensive time, cost, and resource management across major gas transmission and distribution programs—bringing structure, calm, and clarity to teams navigating fast-moving construction and maintenance environments.

Deliver thoughtful, accurate program governance, including master scheduling, financial forecasting, regulatory reporting, and risk management—ensuring critical compliance and asset safety data flows clearly and reliably.

Champion collaborative planning, working closely with gas networks, pipeline engineers,

and construction teams to create execution strategies that are realistic, well-sequenced, and grounded in practical site conditions.

Build trusting relationships with project managers, engineers, high-pressure pipeline specialists, and delivery teams—offering support, guidance, and steady decision‑making when technical or environmental challenges arise.

Promote continuous improvement, safety leadership, wellbeing, and inclusive practices that strengthen team culture and the quality of asset delivery outcomes.

Required Qualifications & Skills

We’re seeking someone who blends technical expertise in the gas sector with emotional intelligence—someone who leads with empathy, listens deeply, and brings people along with them.

A tertiary qualification in Engineering, Project Management, Construction Management, or a related technical discipline.

A valid General Construction Induction Training Card (White Card).

A current, unrestricted Australian Driver’s Licence and a willingness to travel to project sites across the Greater Sydney area as required.

A solid background in engineering, construction, or program delivery specifically within the utilities, infrastructure, or gas sectors.

Strong experience in managing multi-site programs, interface coordination, regulatory compliance, and gas contract administration.

Confidence using MS Project, Excel, and SAP to track program health and performance.

A steady, reflective approach to solving complex technical challenges, navigating regulatory frameworks, and supporting others.

Clear, warm communication skills—you know how to explain the “why” as well as the “how,” and you value open dialogue, safety culture, and shared understanding.
