Junior Paralegal or Law Clerk | Family Law

This is an exciting opportunity for a Junior Paralegal or Law Clerk with some prior legal support experience to build their career in family law.

The role sits within a busy Brisbane family law team and would suit someone who has already gained exposure in a law firm environment, whether through legal administration, paralegal work, law clerk duties or Court filing and document support.

This is not a pure entry-level role. The team is looking for someone who understands the pace and detail required in a legal practice and is ready to take on more hands-on family law support.

You will be involved in a broad range of family law matters, including parenting, property settlements, divorce, child support, financial agreements and domestic violence matters. You will be working closely with experienced lawyers and will have the opportunity to continue developing your legal support skills in a structured and professional team.

The role

Your responsibilities will include:

- Drafting, typing and amending correspondence and Court documents




- Filing Court documents electronically and in person
- Preparing briefs
- Transcribing dictations
- Assisting with file management
- Providing general office support
- Supporting lawyers with day-to-day matter progression
- Working toward paralegal billable targets of around 4 hours per day, depending on workload

About you

To be considered, you will ideally have:

- Prior experience in a law firm or legal support environment
- A genuine interest in family law
- Strong Microsoft Office skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Positive file management skills
- The ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines
- Confidence working both autonomously and as part of a team
- A proactive attitude and willingness to learn

This role would suit someone who is organised, reliable and keen to build stronger hands-on experience in family law, while already bringing a solid understanding of legal office expectations.
