Aspirante is seeking two experienced Senior Project Managers to support a significant, high-profile public safety program within the Queensland Government.
These are senior and highly visible roles working closely with senior executives, ministers, commissioners and senior stakeholders across multiple jurisdictions and government agencies. The successful candidates will help strengthen strategic implementation, governance, investment decision-making and Program Management Office capability across a complex, cross-agency environment.
These opportunities will suit seasoned Project Management Practitioners who can operate at both a strategic and practical level, translate government strategy and policy and executive direction into effective implementation.
The Role
Working across a major public safety program and reporting into the Program Director, you will provide senior leadership in the implementation and continuous improvement of the Department's governance, investment. strategy and delivery frameworks.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Implementing and continuously improving program governance frameworks, decision-making processes and management controls.
- Translating government strategy, policy objectives and executive decisions into clear implementation plans.
- Supporting strategic investment planning, prioritisation and executive investment decisions.
- Improving program reporting, performance monitoring and executive-level assurance.
- Leading risk, issue, dependency and escalation management across multiple agencies and workstreams.
- Strengthening resource planning, benefits management and program delivery controls.
- Developing and embedding consistent PMO processes, practices, templates and reporting standards.
- Preparing high-quality executive briefings, reports, recommendations, governance papers and decision documents.
- Working collaboratively with executives, policy leaders, program teams and delivery stakeholders across government.
- Leading the change and transformation required to embed new frameworks, processes and ways of working.

About You
You will be a senior Project Manager, program governance professional or strategic implementation leader with experience operating in complex government, policy or cross-agency environments.
You will bring:
- Demonstrated experience delivering strategic, policy, governance or organisational improvement initiatives.
- A strong understanding of government policy development, strategic implementation and public-sector decision-making.
- Extensive experience in program governance, investment frameworks, assurance and PMO management.
- Experience working directly with executives and senior government stakeholders.
- The ability to operate effectively across multiple agencies, business areas and competing stakeholder priorities.
- Strong executive writing skills, including experience preparing briefings, governance papers, reports and recommendations.
- Experience across risk, issue, resource, benefits and investment management.
- Highly developed stakeholder engagement, consultation, negotiation and influencing skills.
- The ability to lead change, establish new ways of working and embed sustainable improvements.
- Strong judgement, political awareness and the ability to navigate complex and sensitive environments.
Experience within public safety, justice, emergency services, regulatory services or another complex Queensland Government setting would be highly regarded.
