About the job:
We’re currently partnering with a well-established organisation within the engineering and infrastructure sector to appoint a HR Generalist/Coordinator into their collaborative People & Culture team. This role offers genuine long-term development opportunities, with the business keen to invest in someone looking to grow their career into a future HR Advisor/Consultant and eventually HRBP pathway.
This is a genuinely broad role with exposure across the full employee lifecycle, supporting both operational HR activities and wider people initiatives across a national workforce. The position would suit someone who enjoys being hands-on, thrives in a fast-paced environment and is looking to continue building their generalist HR capability within a secure and growing business.
Key Responsibilities
- Supporting employees and managers with day-to-day HR queries and processes
- Assisting with end-to-end recruitment coordination including advertising, interview scheduling, reference checks and offer preparation
- Preparing employment contracts, promotions, resignations and other employee documentation
- Coordinating onboarding activities and supporting the new starter experience
- Managing probation review processes and stakeholder follow-up
- Supporting employee engagement initiatives and benefits programs
- Coordinating visa applications with external immigration providers
- Assisting with HR reporting,
workforce data and diversity reporting
- Conducting exit interviews and identifying key themes and trends
- Supporting policy reviews and ensuring alignment with current legislation
- Assisting with annual performance review processes, training coordination and wider HR projects
- Maintaining HR systems, records and internal documentation
About You
- Previous experience within a HR Coordinator or HR Generalist position
- Tertiary qualifications in Human Resources or a related discipline
- Exposure to Australian employment legislation and HR best practice
- Robust organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities
- High attention to detail and strong administrative capability
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- A proactive and solutions-focused mindset
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment
