Advanced Industrial Services (AIS) is a growing industrial maintenance and automation business, and we're looking for a Fitter & Turner to join our team working across Brisbane's northern corridor.

This role offers hands-on variety, independence on the tools, and the chance to work within a progressive, contemporary business. You'll work directly with the owner, be trusted to manage your work, and have genuine exposure to electrical, automation, and mechanical systems in live industrial environments.

Whether you're an experienced tradesperson or a confident recently qualified Fitter with strong practical skills, we're looking for someone with strong practical ability and an attitude to learn and grow.

The Role

As a Fitter & Turner with AIS you'll play a key role in the manufacture, maintenance repair and installation of mechanical equipment across a diverse range of industrial environments. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

Manufacture, repair and assemble mechanical components and equipment to engineering specifications and required tolerances

Interpret engineering drawings, technical documents and specifications to delivery high-quality fitting and machining work

Install, align and commission mechanical plant and equipment both in the workshop and on client sites

Perform preventative and breakdown maintenance, diagnose faults and carry out effective mechanical repairs to minimise downtime

Work collaborative with electricians and other trades to deliver maintenance and project outcomes safely and efficiently

Collaborate with operations and engineering teams to optimise system performance and minimise downtime.

Maintain accurate job documentation while ensuring all work is completed in accordance with WHS requirements, Australian Standards and AIS Quality Expectations.

About You





We're looking for a motivated and reliable tradesperson who takes pride in delivering quality workmanship and contributing to a positive team culture. To be successful in this role, you will have:

A recognised Fitter and Turner, Mechanical Fitter or equivalent trade qualification with experience in industrial maintenance, manufacturing or project environments.

Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to interpret engineering drawings, technical specifications and problem solve effectively in the field

A proactive and self-motivated approach, with the ability to work independently while also contributing positively within a team environment

A commitment to workplace safety, quality workmanship and continuous improvement in everything you do

Professional communication skills and the ability to represent AIS positively when working with customers, contractors and site personnel

A current drivers licence, full Australian working rights, and a willingness to continue learning and developing your skills as part of a growing business.
