The Opportunity

Advance your consulting career and join FinXL's PMO & Project Services Practice as a Portfolio Analyst supporting a major, high-visibility strategic growth portfolio for a leading general insurance client!

In this role, you will act as a pivotal PMO anchor within our consulting team, ensuring effective governance, financial control, and delivery assurance across a diverse portfolio of strategic, tactical, and marketing initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

- Governance & Delivery Assurance: Coordinate portfolio governance forums and steering committees; act as secretariat (agendas, executive packs, minute-taking, action tracking); maintain governance calendars and decision logs.
- Portfolio Controls & RAIDD: Facilitate portfolio-wide RAIDD management processes, maintain data quality across risks/issues, and support delivery teams in maintaining compliance with governance standards.
- Financial Governance: Track project/portfolio financial performance, monitor budgets, forecasts, actual expenditure, and variance reporting in close alignment with Finance teams.
- Investment Governance: Coordinate investment stage-gate processes,



review submissions for governance compliance, and maintain investment approval records and decision artefacts.
- Executive Reporting: Produce accurate, timely portfolio reporting and executive dashboards to provide clear visibility to leadership stakeholders.
- PMO Uplift & Operations: Maintain knowledge management platforms, shared communication channels, and continuously improve PMO frameworks, templates, and operating procedures.

Key Skills & Experience

- Experience: 3-5 years' experience in a PMO, Project Coordination, Project Controls, or Portfolio Governance role supporting large-scale programs or portfolios, ideally in the general insurance industry.
- Governance & Reporting: Proven track record preparing high-quality governance packs, executive papers, and committee materials.
- Portfolio Controls: Strong understanding of project governance, RAID management, and delivery reporting.
- Financial Literacy: Solid financial literacy with hands-on experience managing project/portfolio financial data, budgets, and variance reporting.
- Technical Proficiency: Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Office 365.
- Desirable: Familiarity with Agile/Secure and traditional delivery frameworks; experience with Jira, Confluence, or portfolio management tools; PMO certifications (P3O, PRINCE2, CAPM).
