We're looking for an experienced Design Manager to join our growing Design team and play a key role in delivering some of Melbourne's most exciting developments.

The Prospect

Reporting to the Design Director, you'll take ownership of the design management process across a portfolio of premium developments, leading consultant teams and ensuring every project delivers on GURNER's vision for exceptional architecture and design.

Play a key role across our expanding Build-to-Rent portfolio and premium residential developments, partnering with Development, Construction, Marketing and external consultants to bring industry-leading projects to life.

This is a genuinely collaborative team where ideas are welcomed, creativity is encouraged and everyone works together to deliver extraordinary outcomes.

What You'll Be Doing

You'll be responsible for leading projects through every stage of the design journey, including:

Leading architects and consultant teams from concept through to construction delivery.
Driving exceptional architectural outcomes while balancing programme, quality and commercial objectives.
Managing town planning submissions, tender documentation and design milestones.
Reviewing architectural documentation, apartment layouts and internal planning.
Collaborating with Development, Marketing and Construction teams to bring project visions to life.




Supporting acquisitions by reviewing new development opportunities and feasibility designs.

Acting as the key design contact throughout project delivery, ensuring design intent is maintained from concept to completion.

About You

We're looking for someone who genuinely loves architecture and believes great design can improve the way people live.

You'll ideally bring:

Minimum 3 years' Design Management or background working within a reputable architecture practice (essential).

Experience in residential developments (essential)
Experience transitioning into a Design Manager role within property development or construction.
Minimum 3 years' Design Management experience.
Strong understanding of planning controls, design documentation and construction methodology.
Excellent stakeholder management skills and the ability to confidently lead consultant teams.
Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously.

A collaborative approach and passion for creating outstanding places.
