? The Opportunity

We are currently seeking a Material Custodian to join the Agilex Biolabs team on a permanent, full-time basis.

Reporting to the Team Leader - Inventory and Logistics, the Material Custodian plays a critical role in ensuring the effective management, storage, and coordination of analytical reference materials and critical reagents that support our laboratory operations.

You will act as a key liaison between internal teams, clients, and external stakeholders, ensuring materials are received, tracked, stored, and dispatched in accordance with regulatory requirements and company procedures.

Key responsibilities include:

- Coordinate the receipt, handling, storage, and tracking of analytical reference materials and critical reagents in accordance with relevant SOPs.
- Manage procurement activities relating to client-supplied materials.




- Maintain authorisation and compliance requirements associated with controlled materials.
- Liaise with clients, suppliers, and other external stakeholders to obtain required material information and documentation.
- Coordinate incoming shipments and ensure materials are processed accurately and efficiently.
- Oversee and maintain material storage areas, ensuring compliance, organisation, and inventory integrity.
- Arrange the disposal or outbound shipment of materials as requested by sponsors or clients.
- Maintain accurate records by updating, filing, and archiving databases, logs, and associated documentation.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives relating to inventory and materials management processes.

? About You

To be successful in this role, you will be highly organised, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to build effective relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.
- High attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy and quality.




- A proactive approach with the ability to anticipate requirements and solve problems independently.
- A flexible and adaptable mindset with a positive, "can-do" attitude.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within a team while also operating effectively with minimal supervision.
- Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- A scientific background, laboratory experience, or tertiary qualification in a related field will be highly regarded.
