Founded in 2013 by sisters Candice and Karla Rose, Zulu & Zephyr is an Australian lifestyle brand inspired by the nostalgia of 1970s Australian fashion and a love of coastal living. We've built a global community through thoughtful design, considered craftsmanship and a timeless approach to fashion.
As we continue to grow, we're looking for a highly organised and proactive Design Assistant to join our Design team.
Reporting to the Senior Designer, you'll support the end-to-end product development process—from development handover through to bulk production—while working closely with Design, Production, Marketing, Sales and suppliers to ensure every collection is delivered accurately and on time.
Accountabilities
- Support the development process from handover to production.
- Coordinate fabrics, trims, lab dips, prints and sample development.
- Maintain WFX, BOMs, CADs and product information.
- Liaise with suppliers to manage timelines, approvals and product updates.
- Assist with fit sessions,
sample management and product approvals.
- Prepare garments and assets for photoshoots and collection launches.
- Maintain fabric libraries, sample archives and an organised design studio.
About You
- Diploma or Certificate IV in Fashion Design.
- 2+ years' experience in a Design Assistant or Product Development role.
- Passionate about textiles, product development and thoughtful design.
- Highly organised with exceptional attention to detail.
- Strong understanding of garment construction and apparel development.
- Proficient in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop and Microsoft Office. WFX experience is highly regarded.
- A collaborative, high energy, positive team member who thrives in a fast-paced setting.
