Finance Manager – Head of Finance Function

Lamson Concepts is a long-established Australian business providing automated transport and logistics solutions to hospitals, retailers, aged-care providers, and commercial facilities throughout Australia.

As Lamson enters an exciting phase of growth, we are seeking an experienced and commercially minded Finance Manager to take full ownership of the finance function and play a key role in supporting the continued success of the business.
This is an exceptional opportunity for a senior finance professional who thrives in a hands‑on environment and has extensive experience across all facets of finance, particularly within service, maintenance and installation businesses.
This is a true end-to-end finance leadership role encompassing Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Payroll, Inventory Management, Financial Reporting, Compliance, Budgeting, Forecasting, Cashflow Management, and Administration. You will lead a Finance and Administration team of five while working closely with the General Manager and senior leaders to drive business performance and continuous improvement.
The successful candidate will bring strong experience from a small to medium-sized business environment and possess a deep understanding of the challenges associated with service-based organisations, particularly those delivering maintenance, installation and support services.
Experience working within the healthcare sector, HealthShare environments, or organisations servicing government entities will be highly regarded.
About the Role
Reporting directly to the General Manager, you will lead the finance function across the organisation, ensuring financial integrity, operational efficiency, and strategic support for the leadership team.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage Lamson's Finance and Administration team (5 staff).
- Take ownership of the entire finance function across the business.
- Oversee Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Payroll, Inventory, General Ledger, Administration, and month-end processes.
- Maintain strong inventory controls, including inventory valuation, stock reconciliation, and reporting.
- Drive effective Accounts Receivable management and debt collection strategies to optimise cashflow.
- Manage financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and statutory compliance.
- Prepare monthly management accounts, Board reports, and financial analysis.
- Manage cashflow, working capital, debtor and creditor performance.
- Ensure compliance with BAS, GST, payroll tax, superannuation, and all other statutory obligations.
- Partner with operational teams to analyse project profitability, margins, and business performance.
- Drive continuous improvement across financial systems, controls, and business processes.
- Liaise with external auditors, accountants, banks, and key stakeholders.
- Support the business in its dealings with hospitals, HealthShare organisations, and government departments.
About You
- A Bachelor's Degree or higher qualification in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or a related discipline.
- Current CPA or CA qualification (mandatory).
- A minimum of eight (8)
years' experience in a senior finance leadership position.
- Proven experience managing the complete finance function within a small to medium-sized business.
- Extensive experience within a service-based organisation delivering maintenance, installation, and support services.
- Previous experience within the healthcare sector, HealthShare environments, or businesses regularly servicing government organisations (highly regarded).
- Strong inventory control and inventory management experience.
- Demonstrated expertise in Accounts Receivable management and debt collection.

- Financial Reporting and Compliance
- Experience leading and developing finance teams, including hybrid or outsourced teams.
- Solid commercial acumen with the ability to provide strategic financial advice to senior leadership.
- Excellent analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Advanced ERP and financial systems experience.
- A proactive, hands‑on approach with the ability to work autonomously in a fast‑paced environment.
