About Us
Brisbane Boys' College is an established GPS day and boarding school founded in 1902, dedicated to developing boys into worthy leaders and good citizens. Located just four kilometres from Brisbane's centre, we educate students from Prep to Year 12.
About the Role
You’ll be joining a supportive health care team of 10 staff members, working together to deliver contemporary, student-focused care for boys. The team environment is collaborative and rewarding, with a shared focus on quality care and positive outcomes.
This role offers valuable exposure to a broad range of primary healthcare activities, providing variety and opportunities to build practical experience. Hours are primarily afternoon and evening shifts during the week, with morning, afternoon, and evening shifts on weekends.
While there may be times you are required to work independently, the team structure remains supportive. Experience in sports injury management is beneficial, but not essential.
About You
You are a compassionate and organised Registered Nurse with strong communication skills and the ability to build relationships with students, parents, and staff. You remain calm in emergencies, are proactive, and are committed to student wellbeing.
Key Responsibilities
Provide first aid and emergency care to students and staff.
Maintain accurate medical records and health plans.
Communicate with parents/guardians about student health.
Liaise with the Health Centre Manager and Head of Boarding for medical appointments.
Order medical supplies and ensure smooth Health Centre operations.
Train staff on asthma, diabetes, and anaphylaxis management.
Skills & Capabilities
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to maintain confidentiality and privacy.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and database systems (TASS).
Initiative and problem-solving ability.
Reliable, punctual, and adaptable.
Qualifications
Registered Nurse with AHPRA registration.
Current First Aid certification (including asthma and anaphylaxis).
Relevant tertiary qualifications in nursing or healthcare.
Mandatory Requirements
Adherence to the PMSA Code of Conduct.
Compliance with College policies (including child protection and OH&S;).
Support of the College’s traditions and Christian ethos.

Selection Criteria
Current registration with AHPRA as a Registered Nurse.
Ability to provide safe and effective care for children and adolescents.
Current First Aid and CPR certifications with emergency response capability.
Experience or interest in supporting sports participation, injury prevention, and rehabilitation.
Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
Collaborative approach in a school setting.
Strong organisational and record-keeping skills.
Commitment to ongoing skilled learning and student wellbeing.
