We are currently looking for Disability Support Workers to join our service locations in the Maitland, Newcastle and Greater Hunter Region.

Key responsibilities of the role:

Encouraging independence and supporting participants to achieve their personal goals.

Working with your team to consistently enforce and review participants Behaviour Support Plans.

Promoting the safety of the participants we support through completing detailed shift-handover notes, sleepover notes and incident reports.

Ensuring Protected Practices with medication dispensing, administration, monitoring and management.

Aiding and supporting participants with personal care, domestic duties,



and daily living interests and community access activities.

About You

Flexibility to work within a service that provides 24/7 care, including office hours, sleepovers, and weekends.

Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.

Experience in behaviour management, restrictive practices, mealtime management, de-escalation techniques, and manual handling.

Candidates of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander descent are strongly encouraged to apply.

Relevant Certificate relating to the Disability sector.

Current Australian Driver's license.

Comprehensive vehicle insurance (or willingness to obtain).

Current Police, NDIS Worker, and Working with Children Checks.

First Aid, CPR, and COVID 19 Infection Control Certificates.

Evidence of Work Rights in Australia.

Up-to-date record of COVID 19 Vaccinations.

Completion of NDIS Worker Modules.
